Ending Your Tenancy
If you are thinking about ending your tenancy after the term has expired we require 1 full calendar month notice from the date of receipt of your notice in writing. We will confirm your notice has been received and will arrange a convenient date and time to “Check you out” of the property.
During your check out, we will take note of the final Electricity and Gas readings. Peak Property provide you with a free service of notifying all utility providers including Council tax and water that you are moving out.
You will need to have to hand the names of your Electricity and Gas providers in order that we may arrange this. Please ensure that any prepayment meter keys and cards remain at the property.
When we meet you for your check out, all your belongings must be removed from the property and you should leave the condition of it the same as when you first moved in, except for reasonable wear and tear. All keys should be returned to us.
It is advisable to thoroughly clean the property. We recommend that you consult your original inventory if there is any doubt as to what may require your special attention.
Your tenancy deposit is protected in a government scheme and we will endeavour to agree any reasonable deductions for damage or excess wear during our check out meeting. Deposit funds will be released to you within 14 days of vacating the property. However, we normally find that the turnaround time is much quicker and within 5 working days.
After we have checked you out of the property, you will need to process the release of your deposit. To do this, you will require your Deposit Protection Service (DPS) private PIN number that would have been emailed directly to you at the commencement of your tenancy. You then need to login to the DPS website and complete the required form.
